From our founder:

27 years ago I was bitten by the ‘theatre bug’ and have not looked back since. Working on over 60 productions across Fargo-Moorhead in the past ten years, I have seen the growth of the theatre scene in our community first hand. Out of a passion for theatre, and a love for seeing the growth of people as they participate in the arts, I am excited to launch BRUSVEN THEATRICAL.

It is our mission to ignite imagination, cultivate creativity, and enrich education through theatrical experiences. One of our core objectives for BRUSVEN THEATRICAL is to bring Fargo-Moorhead’s first year-round Children’s Theatre to life. We will provide opportunities for youth and families to immerse themselves in theatre education and performances as well as opportunities for year-round, family friendly productions.

We believe deeply in the power theatricality plays in life. While our main objective is to program year-round Children’s Theatre, we will also launch new events, programs, services and resources that add a little more theatricality to the region.

Yours in the Arts

Musical Theatre Intensive

This June BRUSVEN THEATRICAL in partnership with Oak Grove Theatre Arts, will take 100+ k-5th graders on an incredible adventure rescuing the 101 DALMATIANS. Igniting Imagination is an immersive education program which explores the fundamentals of theatre: acting, singing, dance, costume design, and set construction for half the day and create the musical production of 101 DALMATIANS Kids the other half of the day. This program will be produced by our BE LEADERS program in conjunction with a professional artistic team.

This year the program will run  June 11 – July 1, Monday – Thursday 9-4pm and Fridays from 9-noon on the Oak Grove Campus in the Scheel’s Center for the Performing Arts.

Performances will be held June 29, 30 & July 1

Each day students will break up into small groups and spend 45 minutes in acting, singing, dancing and technical theatre classes. They will then break for lunch. After lunch our artistic team will guide the students through the creative process of blocking, singing, and learning the choreography for the show. Each session is packed with learning and performance education.
